From open-air festivals and farmers markets to free concerts in the park, there’s something for everyone this June in Eastern Jackson County! Since this month is jam-packed with incredible experiences, we’ve put together a list of events to check out in Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs, and Raymore—grab your calendar and let’s dive in!

Lee’s Summit Events

  • Downtown Lee’s Summit Farmers Market  
    • Wednesdays & Saturdays, 8:00am–12:00pm
    • Shop fresh produce, meats, baked goods, plants, and more at the award-winning farmers market held downtown. Early birds get the best picks, so arrive when the market opens at 8am for the freshest selection! The market is free to attend and runs all summer (April 19–Oct 25), making it a beloved Saturday morning tradition for many Lee’s Summit residents.

  • Fourth Fridays Art Walk & Concert
    • Friday, June 27, 5:00–8:00pm
    • Stroll Downtown Lee’s Summit for Fourth Fridays, a monthly art walk featuring local artists, live music, street performers, and extended shop hours. This Fourth Friday combo is free and fun for all ages, making it a great way to kick off the weekend.
      • June’s theme is “Rainbow Connection,” celebrating love, friendship, & community with colorful art displays. 
      • The evening includes Music in the Park at Howard Station Park, a free outdoor concert at 6:30pm featuring local singer-songwriter Alex Sons. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the tunes on the lawn.

One-Time Special Events

 

  • “Swingin’ Summer” Concert (Lee’s Summit Symphony)
    • Saturday, June 21, 7:00pm
    • The Lee’s Summit Symphony invites you to swing back in time with a big-band summer spectacular at the John Knox Village Pavilion. This evening concert, dubbed “Swingin’ Summer,” will feature nostalgic favorites from the golden age of swing, jazz, and Broadway – think Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Gershwin medleys and more. It’s an indoor venue, so you’ll enjoy the tunes rain or shine. Tickets range from $5 (general seating) up to $100 for VIP table seating for truly toe-tapping fun for all generations!

  • Lee’s Summit Jazz Festival
    • Saturday, June 28, 12:00–8:00pm
    • Back for its second year, the Lee’s Summit Jazz Festival is an all-day celebration of live music, food and local flavor. Taking place outdoors at Bridge Space, a local venue, you can try food trucks, check out artisan vendors, and explore community tents between seven jazz performances ranging from smooth solo acts to big-band ensembles throughout the day. Tickets are about $20 and the lively atmosphere is great for music lovers of all ages – whether you’re a longtime jazz enthusiast or just looking for a fun summer festival vibe!

Blue Springs Events

 

Blue Springs is buzzing with community spirit this June, offering a mix of healthy outdoor fun, live music, and foodie delights. The best part? Many of these events are free, making it easy to fill your calendar without breaking the bank!

Recurring Events

 

  • Blue Springs Farmers Market

    • Every Saturday, 7:00am–12:00pm

    • Rise and shine on Saturdays and head to Downtown Blue Springs for the weekly farmers market where you’ll find farm-fresh vegetables and fruits, eggs, baked goodies, meats, flowers, handmade crafts and more. The market runs May through the first weekend of October, rain or shine, and it’s free to attend; just bring some cash to support local farmers and artists!

  • Music in the Park: A Summer Concert Series

    • Every Sunday evening, 6:00–8:00pm

    • Sunday nights are for relaxing outdoor concerts at Rotary Park’s gazebo. This free summer concert series runs from June 1 through August 24 on Sunday evenings. Each week features a different band/genre, so make sure to check out The MGDs (with Womanish Girl) on June 22nd for a funky blues show. 

    • Bring a lawn chair or blanket and even a picnic dinner to enjoy in the park and unwind to live music as the sun sets for a perfect low-key summer outing. Bonus: Kids can play on the playground at Rotary Park or dance on the lawn, and restrooms are on-site for convenience. Did we mention it’s free? Just show up and enjoy!

  • Downtown Blue Springs Car Cruise
    • Saturday, June 14 5:00–8:00pm
    • Car enthusiasts, rev your engines! Enjoy a bit of vintage Americana on the 2nd Saturday of each month through September, as classic cars and hot rods take over Downtown Blue Springs. At this free “Car Cruise” night, you can wander Main Street to admire beautifully restored classic cars, muscle cars, and custom vehicles while oldies music plays in the background.
    • Local downtown restaurants and bars (like Brewske’s or East Forty Brewing) often have specials during cruise nights, so it’s easy to grab a bite while you browse. If you have a car to display, just cruise on in – no registration needed!

  • Third Thursday Downtown Block Party
    • Thursday, June 19, 5:00–9:00pm
    • From May through August, Downtown Blue Springs hosts Third Thursdays, a mini-street festival that pops up each month. Witness Main Street transform into a lively block party with live entertainment, food trucks, artisan vendors, and enjoyable activities for all! Shops stay open late with special sales and downtown restaurants and breweries offer Third Thursday deals.
    • This event is free to attend, but make sure to bring some cash if you want to try the food trucks or grab a local craft beer. This event is a terrific way to experience the revitalized historic downtown, so grab some friends or bring the family out for a summer evening stroll, live music, and that great small-town community vibe!

  • “Bite of Blue Springs” Food Truck Night
    • Saturday, June 28, 4:30–8:00pm
    • Foodies rejoice! On the fourth Saturday of each month through October, Blue Springs Downtown Alive! hosts “Bite of Blue Springs,” a gathering of food trucks and local eateries in downtown’s Main & 15th St. area. Enjoy free entry—you just pay for whatever tasty bites you want to try. Expect a lineup of diverse food trucks (tacos, BBQ, ice cream and more), live music, picnic tables to sit at, and a laid-back block-party atmosphere.
    • Pro tip: bring lawn chairs in case seating fills up. “Bite” nights are a newer tradition but have grown quickly – come see (and taste) what the buzz is about!

One-Time Special Events

 

  • Outlaw Harley-Davidson Saturday Concert
    • Saturday, June 14, 2025 1:00–4:00pm
    • Looking for a bit of daytime nightlife (if that’s a thing!) or something different to do on a Saturday? The Outlaw Harley-Davidson dealership in Blue Springs (3100 NW Jefferson) is hosting the band Krush as part of their Saturday Concert Series. The band will perform an afternoon set in the dealership’s outdoor lot, so grab a free seat (or bring a lawn chair) and jam out to some rock tunes!

The Blue Springs community pride shines through everything from outdoor concerts and block parties to the local farmers market, so jump in and enjoy the fun!

(P.S. Blue Springs also gears up for its big “Red, White and Blue Springs” 4th of July celebration next month, so make sure to add this explosive event to your calendar!)

Raymore Events

 

The city of Raymore may be smaller, but it definitely knows how to pack big fun into June! Sponsored by the Parks & Recreation department or the Arts Commission, many of these events are free and have something for all ages!

  • Raymore Farmers Market
    • Every Tuesday, 4:00–7:00pm at T.B. Hanna Station (Park)
    • That’s right—in Raymore you can do your produce shopping on Tuesday afternoons! From the beginning of June through the end of September, find local farmers and vendors selling fresh veggies, fruits, honey, baked treats, crafts and more.
    • It’s a relaxed after-work market—and the Variety KC Inclusive Sprayground at this park is open daily from 9am–8pm and completely free!

One-Time Special Events

 

  • Summer Concert in the Park—“Yachtly Groove”
    • Friday, June 13, 7:00–9:00pm at Hawk Ridge Park Amphitheater
    • The Raymore Arts Commission is kicking off its summer concert series with a free show by Yachtly Groove, a local band that plays smooth 70s and 80s soft rock and disco hits—think Hall & Oates, Kenny Loggins, and Toto’s “Africa”! Best of all? The concert is FREE and open to all ages. Bring your own lawn chairs or a blanket, any snacks or drinks you like, and enjoy an evening by the lake, perfect for a summer night.

  • Touch-A-Truck
    • Saturday, June 14, 9:00am–12:00pm at Recreation Park
    • Touch-A-Truck is a free interactive event where curious kiddos (and kids-at-heart) can get up close to all kinds of big vehicles and equipment, including fire trucks, police cars, ambulances, dump trucks, tractors, construction rigs and more! Children can climb in the driver’s seat, honk horns, and meet the hometown heroes who operate these machines!
    • Pro tip: 9:00–10:00am is designated a “sensory-friendly hour” (no sirens or loud horns) for children and adults who might be sensitive to noise or crowds. This event is completely free.

  • Festival of the Parks: “Bricks & Block Party”
    • Thursday, June 26, 5:30–8:30pm at T.B. Hanna Station
    • The Raymore Parks & Recreation department is hosting this free building and creativity festival, with areas to play with LEGO bricks and giant blocks, building contests, and LEGO-themed games. Enjoy food vendors, music, and activities for all ages in the park—we’ve even heard rumors of a possible outdoor movie at dusk featuring a certain blocky animated film, so make sure to check Raymore’s social media for updates!

  • Festival of the Parks: “Spirit of America Celebration”
    • Friday, June 27, 7:00–10:00pm at Recreation Park
    • Get into the patriotic spirit a week early, with Raymore’s “Spirit of America” festival night! This Friday evening party will have live music, food trucks, inflatables, yard games, and a fireworks finale to cap off the night after it gets dark. If you love patriotic music and a good summer night outing, bring lawn chairs or a blanket for your crew and enjoy this free event. 
    • Local tip: Parking will be crowded at Recreation Park—consider carpooling or arriving early. And don’t forget bug spray since you’ll be out after dusk!
